为了使得自己平时查看英文文档不再有那么强的排斥心理,我找了一些难度很低,引人入胜的英文小说。最终,我选定了《Goosebumps》,有可能它只适合小孩子看,但是毕竟是原版书籍,况且工作后自由阅读的时间本来就不多,选择一本不烧脑,在不懂细节也能才猜出大致意思的小说很适合现在的我。

说得简单一点,《Goosebumps》就是讲鬼故事的,至少第一本书《Welcome to Dead House》是这样的。主人公Amanda与家人收到陌生叔叔的来信,让他们接收自己遗留的古老城堡。来到小镇Dark Falls后,发生了许多奇怪的事情。Amanda总能看到家里有陌生的小孩在盯着他看;他们一向听话的小狗Petey狂躁不安,最终跑丢了;Amanda和兄弟Josh在Dark Falls小镇结交了一群新的好友,但是一个偶然的夜晚,他们发现镇上坟场的墓碑上有那些新朋友的名字……两人机智地从活死人中救出了被抓的父母,然后不顾一切返回老家,但此时,新来了一家人准备入住自以为属于他们的古堡……

奶爸曾说,为了应用英语,练习英语,有时可以不择手段,只要能使得自己注意力集中,在欣赏故事持续发展的过程中吸收英语的精华,那就是好的方法。

现在,我能理解为什么有的人喜欢读那些虚幻的故事书了。
